We Love the Change of Seasons...
Spring starts peeking through our displays in January and is
in full bloom by March. Bright colored flowers and wreaths
start popping out everywhere and there's lots of sorbet colors in
pottery, spring totes and lighter, brighter jewelry. As for the
sweet tooth… chocolates eggs and other delectable treats
abound for Easter while bunnies and chicks start to multiply
throughout the store.
Summer is for the garden so you'll find wind chimes, garden
frogs, ducks, potted plants, butterflies, picnic baskets, shells and
fish designs. There’s more fruits and vegetables in pottery
patterns and maybe you’ll find a seafood themed display to
inspire that backyard clambake. And on most hot summer days
at Nicolino’s, you can enjoy a refreshing cup of flavored ice tea
while you browse.
Fall brings pumpkins, cackling witches, rich colors in
handbags, chunkier jewelry, candle fragrances like mulled cider
and warm sugar cookie and pottery in deep earthy colors. As
the cold weather sets in, we serve our wonderful hot apple cider
which is now a fall tradition. Sip a little, browse a little...you'll
be nice and warm in no time!
Winter is all about Christmas and that’s when we pull out all
the stops and go top to bottom with our displays. We start the
process in September and aim to finish for our Holiday Open
House the first Sunday in November. Our 15’ tree is front and
center, loaded with ornaments. Santas, snowmen and angels are
everywhere and our displays are packed with holiday pottery.
Gourmet foods and gift baskets take over the whole back of the
store. And let's not forget our giant bowl of M&M’s, another
Nicolino’s tradition. It comes out the day after Thanksgiving
and never runs empty till New Years!
The madness of the holiday season always takes us to the brink,
but when it’s over, there's a let down. And so as the next year
unfolds and the madness is forgotten, we will begin yet another
holiday season with a renewed sense of excitement.
